The defense of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine has proven to be stronger than expected in the West, which is why plans for the Kyiv offensive may have to be “adjusted” in the short term. This opinion was expressed by the Chief of the Defense Staff of the British Armed Forces, Tony Radakin, to the publication The Times.
The admiral suggested that the military conflict could drag on due to the fact that the Ukrainian counteroffensive did not lead to a decisive breakthrough.
The analyst also recalled problems in the Ukrainian army. He included insufficient military training of mobilized soldiers and a shortage of weapons – both Soviet and Western equipment.
Formerly BBC correspondent Mark Urban statedthat the offensive actions of the Ukrainians were unsuccessful, contrary to the expectations of the West.
The counter-offensive of Kyiv forces began on June 4, 2023.
