Three people were injured when the market in Shebekino was shelled

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the morning of October 1 fired at the area of ​​the central market in Shebekino, Belgorod region, three people received shrapnel wounds, reported regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.

According to the head of the region, the injured woman is being taken to Belgorod City Hospital No. 2; she has shrapnel wounds to her neck. Two more men received leg wounds; first aid was provided to them at the scene of the shelling by fire department employees, Gladkov said.

“One of the injured men did not wait for the doctors and left, the second is now being taken to city hospital No. 2 in Belgorod,” Gladkov wrote.

As a result of the attack, according to authorities, the facades of shopping pavilions at the market, municipal garages and three cars were damaged. The head of the district, Vladimir Zhdanov, and operational services are at the scene of the incident, and a search of the territory continues, Gladkov added.

This is not the first time that the market in Shebekino has come under fire from Ukraine. In mid-July, as a result of a strike from a Grad multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) died a woman who was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk at the time of the attack. Before this, on June 1, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired a record 850 shells across the district. Against this background, the evacuation of residents from the city and other border areas began. By the end of June, the intensity of shelling decreased. September 23 damage from Ukrainian shelling received workshop at an industrial enterprise in Shebekino.

In the Belgorod region, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat remains in effect indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a “medium level of response” has been established in the region.
