Military equipment supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by Western countries is not suitable for combat operations in the winter season – it gets stuck and becomes an easy target. This opinion “Lente.ru” expressed by military expert, retired colonel Viktor Litovkin.
According to him, winter affects the course of hostilities. Mud, rain, frost and puddles in the trenches have a depressing effect, especially on those who suffer defeat.
“The Ukrainian military is demotivated, they don’t want to fight in such conditions, they are ready to surrender. We have a chance to improve the situation,” the expert shared his opinion.
He also noted that Western technology gets stuck in the mud under its own weight. According to Litovkin, German, British and American tanks are almost 20 tons heavier than Russian ones.
“They are taller, longer, and are an easier target for artillery and anti-tank shells. Winter is working for us,” he noted.
He also wondered what tasks the Russian command would set: wait until the Ukrainian counteroffensive has completely dried up before launching a decisive offensive, or the Russian army will gradually recapture advantageous positions.
Earlier, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov said that in six months the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost almost 160 thousand soldiers. Also during this period, the Russian army destroyed three thousand enemy armored vehicles, including 766 tanks, 121 aircraft and 23 helicopters.
