As a result of the elections held in September, 24 new senators will appear in the Russian Federation Council, and another 26 will reconfirm their powers. This was announced by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Regulations, Vyacheslav Timchenko.
“The Federation Council opens the autumn session in full force, 178 senators, with new regions fully represented,” said Timchenko.
In September, elections were held in new Russian regions: DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. As a result, executive and legislative powers were formed.
Previously, Denis Pushilin (DPR), Leonid Pasechnik (LPR), Vladimir Saldo (Kherson region) and Evgeniy Balitsky (Zaporozhye region) assumed the official position of governors.
