Military chronicle: Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing to retreat from Artemovsk due to the threat of encirclement
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have begun preparations for the retreat of the unit from Artemivsk (Bakhmut). About it informs Telegram channel “Military Chronicle”. It is noted that back in early April, the units located in the city reported to their command about the probable physical encirclement by Russian forces.
According to the channel, the Ukrainian military, who are at the forefront, report that the Russian troops are gradually squeezing the encirclement and clearing the firing points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the help of tanks, as well as high-precision weapons and artillery.
The grouping of the Ukrainian army, which is carrying out the defense of Artemivsk, declares that by the end of April – the beginning of May, two “barrage rings” will be created along the street. Levanevsky and Tchaikovsky. Control over these positions will allow Russian forces to prevent the UAF from retreating from the settlement.
During a briefing by the Ministry of Defense on April 11, the official representative of the department, Igor Konashenkov, said that the fighters of the PMC “Wagner” continued fighting to capture the central regions of Artemovsk, they were supported by airborne troops from the flanks.
