The Russian side is not participating in discussions about establishing peace in Ukraine, which German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke about. Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov told reporters about this.

“No, we don’t have any advisors,” Mr. Peskov answered the advising question. According to him, Mr. Scholz’s rhetoric does not change the fact that Germany is heavily involved in the conflict in Ukraine. Therefore, the words of the German chancellor “do not change the essence of what is happening.”

Olaf Scholz in an interview with the German newspaper Markische Allgemeine Zeitung toldthat several countries, including Ukraine, are discussing measures at the level of security advisers that will lead to a resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. According to him, peace in Ukraine is possible any time Russia withdraws its troops.

Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine took place in the spring of 2022 and stopped at the initiative of Kyiv. The Ukrainian side is promoting a “peace formula” in the international arena, which also involves the establishment of the 1991 borders of the state. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called this formula “the fruit of a sick imagination.” Russian authorities have repeatedly stated their readiness for negotiations “based on reality.”
