There are more tourists from Europe in Russia, Europeans have begun to apply for tourist visas more often, said Alexey Klimov, director of the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In a conversation with RIA Novosti, he noted that over the 9 months of this year, the Russian Federation issued 57% more visas to European countries than last year over the same period of time.
According to him, a total of 225 thousand visas of all categories were issued in Europe, including 141 thousand tourist visas.
At the same time, Klimov noted, these figures are still significantly behind the figures for 2019, when 1.645 million visas were issued to European residents, of which 1.112 million were tourist visas.
