There are already over 900 people on the list for evacuation with the help of the Russian Federation from the Gaza Strip

More than 900 people have already been included in the lists for evacuation from the Gaza Strip with Russian help, over 500 of them are Russians. This was reported to Vedomosti by the press secretary of the Russian mission to the Palestinian National Authority (based in Ramallah, West Bank) Aliya Zaripova.

“As of October 25, more than 900 people are on the list for evacuation with Russian help, more than 500 of them are Russians. Work on dates and routes for evacuation from Gaza continues,” she said.

On October 7, the Palestinian group Hamas attacked Israel. Amid the militant attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched Operation Iron Swords, and the country went into a state of war. As a result of the fighting, according to the latest data, about 6,500 people were killed, including more than 5,000 from the Gaza Strip. During the fighting, 23 Russian citizens were killed and four were missing.

The Russian Foreign Ministry previously reported that it was discussing with key regional players the opening of humanitarian corridors for evacuation and supplies of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Prior to this, the Russian representation in Gaza reported an evacuation list of 400 Russian citizens and 300 citizens of the CIS countries.

As Russia’s permanent representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya reported on October 18, about 1,000 Russian citizens and members of their families became virtual hostages of the military blockade of Gaza. On the morning of October 19, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced the dispatch of 27 tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip government, which is affiliated with Hamas, reported that 1.5 million people had fled their homes due to the fighting.
