The World Bank has transferred all loans of Belarus to the status of non-performing due to delay

Credits of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), provided by Belarus or guaranteed by it, were transferred to the status of non-performing, informed The World Bank. The decision was made in connection with the delay in payments by Minsk in the amount equivalent to $68.43 million.
It is noted that loans are recognized as non-performing “if the payment … is overdue by more than six months.” The amount of outstanding IBRD loans is $967 million, 0.42% of total outstanding IBRD loans. The transfer of loans to the status of non-performing will lead to the bank’s income in the equivalent of $12.75 million.
Since the beginning of March, the World Bank has suspended programs in Belarus against the backdrop of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. Not a single loan has been approved for Minsk since May 2020.
