The West is working to demolish the presidential elections in the Russian Federation – Kommersant

Ella Pamfilova, chairman of the Central Election Commission, believes that the 2024 presidential election in Russia will be a “change of eras.” In her opinion, Western countries are already working to disrupt the campaign.

“People are interested, they see what is really happening. And they understand that the upcoming presidential elections in March 2024 are not just another presidential election in the Russian Federation. This is a question, I would put it this way, not only an ideological one, but it is also a question of changing eras. <...> We understand that the main thing, and we understand that they are already working on the presidential elections in Russia, just to demolish them. Enormous funds have been allocated by Western countries, primarily by the United States,” said Ms. Pamfilova at a meeting with students of the Pacific State University in Khabarovsk (quoted from TASS).

According to the head of the CEC, the electoral system is ready for the presidential elections, as over the years of work, a “viable, very viable, well-targeted, motivated system” has been created. As an example of successful work, she cited the vote on amendments to the Constitution during the pandemic, when “modern ways” were found to ensure the safety of people.

Ella Pamfilova praised the parliamentary parties for “putting aside their political, ideological preferences and contradictions and, as a united fist, showing themselves to be patriots of their country.” “We have united now, supporting the guys at our front, so that they understand that it is not in vain that they shed their blood and give their lives, that we are not letting them down here,” the CEC chairman added.

As Kommersant reported earlier, the presidential administration has decided on the desired targets for the 2024 presidential election based on the result of the candidate from the government and the turnout. They can be described by the formula “75+/70+”. When these indicators are reached, the absolute number of votes cast for a candidate from power will be more than in the 2018 elections, where Vladimir Putin showed a record result.
