The West is dissatisfied with the results of the meeting between Putin and Erdogan

On August 5, Vladimir Putin received Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi. The leaders agreed to increase bilateral trade, Erdogan announced that Russian-Turkish relations had reached a new level. The President of Russia commented on bilateral relations in the same vein: “Last year, our trade turnover increased by 57%, and in the first months of this year, up to and including May, it doubled.”
Putin thanked Erdogan for resolving the issue of exporting grain from Ukraine and facilitating the export of Russian food and fertilizers. In turn, Erdogan said that in 2021 the trade turnover between the two countries reached $33 billion, and in the foreseeable future it will triple and reach $100 billion.
