The West has prepared about 60,000 Ukrainian troops for a counteroffensive

Western countries have trained nearly 60,000 members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) for the counteroffensive. This was announced by the Chairman of the Committee of Chiefs of Staff of the US Armed Forces, General Mark Milley.

“In general, due to international efforts, almost 60,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained for the current [наступательной] operations [Киева]”, – he said (quote according to TASS).

After the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Western countries began to provide financial assistance to Kyiv, supply military equipment and weapons, and train Ukrainian military personnel to operate Western equipment in the United States and European countries. The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the actions of the West, pointing to the growth of direct and indirect involvement of countries in the conflict.

The counteroffensive of Ukraine is announced in the winter. Officially, Kyiv did not announce the start of offensive operations, however, on June 8, The Washington Post, citing unnamed Ukrainian servicemen, announced the start of a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Earlier today, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the Ukrainian President Mikhail Podolyak declaredthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine have not yet launched a counteroffensive. According to him, Ukraine allegedly conducts “testing of the entire front line.”

At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been conducting active offensive operations since June 4. Commenting on the words of Podolyak, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov doubtedthat a Ukrainian official can know for sure whether the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has begun.
