The website of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) has been blocked in Russia due to repeated posting of content that violates Russian legislation. This was reported by the press service of Roskomnadzor.
As the department explained, materials aimed at inciting hatred and enmity against persons united on the basis of social, national, religious and linguistic affiliation were systematically distributed on the OCU website.
Meanwhile, in the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church ignored the postponement of Christmas in Ukraine from January 7 to December 25. The Primate of the UOC, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev, led the all-night vigil as part of the Christmas service in the Kiev Pechersk Lavra.
Moreover, in the Kyiv region on Christmas night two churches of the OCU burned down. In particular, according to the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations, a fire broke out in the St. Michael’s Church in the village of Khrapachi, Belotserkovsky district, built in 1896.
