The wealth of Russia’s richest people increased by $50.012 billion in 2023, according to the report Bloomberg Billionaires Index. This index is formed based on the value of shares of companies controlled by businessmen.
The top five richest Russian businessmen included:
- LUKOIL founder Vagit Alekperov – +$9.29 billion (total $24.7 billion);
- co-founder of Eurochem and SUEK Andrey Melnichenko – +$5.67 billion (total $17.42 billion);
- NLMK founder Vladimir Lisin – +$4.08 billion (total $23.9 billion);
- former vice-president of LUKOIL Leonid Fedun – +$3.91 billion (total $9.78 billion);
- head of NOVATEK Leonid Mikhelson – +$2.83 billion (total $27.5 billion).
The largest loss was suffered by Acron’s main shareholder Vyacheslav Kantor – his fortune decreased by $0.149 billion, to $6.21 billion. In total, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows the wealth of 25 Russian citizens out of the 500 richest people on the planet.
