The wealth of the richest people in Russia increased by $32.01 billion. This is should from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, in which the agency regularly monitors the fortunes of entrepreneurs based on the value of shares of companies they control.
The top five richest Russians since the beginning of this year are:
- Lukoil founder Vagit Alekperov + $7.25 billion (total $22.6 billion);
- NLMK founder Vladimir Lisin + $4.36 billion (total $24.2 billion);
- Novatek CEO Leonid Mikhelson + $3.49 billion (total $28.1 billion);
- Co-owner of Novatek and Sibur Gennady Timchenko + $3.13 billion (total $14.9 billion);
- former vice president of LUKOIL Leonid Fedun + $2.91 billion (total $8.78 billion).
Since the beginning of 2023, Suleyman Kerimov (-$1.03 billion), Roman Abramovich (-$504 million) and Vyacheslav Kantor (-$466 million) have suffered the greatest losses.
In total, the Bloomberg Billionaires Index lists the wealth of the 500 richest people on the planet, including 25 Russian citizens.
