Billionaire Soros bought the second largest network of radio stations in the United States before the presidential election

Billionaire George Soros has acquired a controlling stake in Audacy, the second largest network of radio stations in America. It includes more than 220 radio stations. The Washington Post reports this with reference to its sources/

According to the publication, the businessman’s fund, Soros Fund Management, bought the radio network’s debt in the amount of 400 million. Audacy previously issued a statement announcing its bankruptcy. The newspaper clarified that although this does not represent the majority of the assets, it will give control over the media giant after financial recovery.

According to a Republican insider close to the situation, Soros made such a purchase in a presidential election year in hopes of influencing public opinion. “It’s scary,” the publication’s interlocutor added.

Soros has long been associated with Democrats. In February 2016, CNN reported that Soros had donated six million dollars to the presidential campaign of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump’s rival. After the Republican victory in the 2016 elections, Soros called him a supporter of dictatorship and turning the United States into a mafia state.
