The Council also clarified that hackers gained access to voter information after hacking the DataNet web server. The incident is currently being investigated by federal and local law enforcement agencies, and the FBI is also conducting an investigation.
Local media clarified that information about addresses, names and party affiliations, according to the laws of the District of Columbia, is not considered confidential information.
This is not the first attack by hackers in the United States over the past year. In December, the Killnet group boasted of hacking the website of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
