Ministry of Finance reported on the placement of funds from the National Wealth Fund (NWF) for 2022. In August, 58.334 billion rubles. were placed in the shares of the leasing company STLC, another 2.298 billion rubles – in the bonds of the Ural Airlines. Earlier, the State Duma approved a law on the placement of the fund’s resources in shares of Russian companies.

In August this year, OAO Yamal LNG partially redeemed bonds purchased by the Ministry of Finance at the expense of the NWF in 2015 in the amount of 4.28 billion rubles, or 5.88% of the nominal value of $1.21 billion.
Also, the Ministry of Finance purchased bonds of JSC AK Ural Airlines for 2.298 billion rubles. from the funds of the National Welfare Fund in the amount of 2,298,929 pieces. RUB 58.334 billion were placed in ordinary shares of JSC STLC in the amount of 5,833,402 shares.
In addition, €49.188 billion, 5.314 billion pounds, as well as 309.720 billion Chinese yuan and 768.257 billion Japanese yen were placed on separate accounts for accounting for the fund’s funds at the Central Bank (CB). It should be noted that after the start of the military operation in Ukraine, part of the NWF funds in foreign currencies on accounts with the Central Bank was blocked due to sanctions. Finance Minister Anton Siluanov reported that Western countries had frozen about $300 billion of Russia’s gold and foreign exchange reserves.
