The volume of funds of the National Welfare Fund (NWF) as of October 1, 2023 amounted to 13.65 trillion rubles. (equivalent to $140.106 billion) or 9.1% of GDP projected for the current year, reported press service Ministry of Finance of Russia. The volume of the National Welfare Fund as of September 1 was 13.7 trillion rubles; over the month, funds in the fund decreased by 55.3 billion rubles.
The press release states that the volume of liquid assets of the National Welfare Fund as of October 1 amounted to 7.14 trillion rubles. ($73.297 billion) or 4.8% of GDP projected for 2023. The structure of the fund includes €4.071 billion, 279.77 billion Chinese yuan, 508.265 tons of gold and 396 million rubles, the press service reported.
As the Ministry of Finance reported, in September 2023, the federal budget was replenished due to the placement of funds from the fund: on deposits of VEB.RF (10.479 billion rubles), in bonds of Ural Airlines (19.6 million rubles), in securities of Russian issuers for the implementation of infrastructure projects (RUB 1.123 billion).
