The volume of industrial production in Russia in October decreased by 2.6%

Production of computers and clothing in Russia in October in annual terms increased by 18.3% and 11.9%, respectively. The volume of industrial production in October 2022 decreased by 2.6% compared to the same period in 2021, informs Rosstat.

The maximum growth in production volumes was demonstrated (compared to October 2021):

• production of computers and their components, as well as computer peripherals, electronic and optical products – 18.3%;
• clothing production – 11.9%.

According to Rosstat, which was analyzed RBC, in October 2022, 46.3 thousand portable computers (laptops, tablet computers, etc.) were assembled in Russia and more than 240 thousand in 10 months. Also in October, about 62 million integrated electronic circuits were manufactured in Russia, since the beginning of the year – more than 505 million.

Direct production of computers and their parts, included in a broader group, grew in October by 61.3% in annual terms, in January-October amounted to 45.3 billion rubles. (+48.4% compared to the same period in 2021).

The decline in output was observed in the following sectors (compared to October 2021:

• production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers – 45.2%;
• wood processing – 19.7%;
• production of medicines and materials used for medical purposes – 8.5%;
• production of textile products – 9.5%;
• production of other vehicles and equipment (including aviation equipment, shipbuilding, etc. – 8.3%;
• production of machinery and equipment not included in other groups (including machine tool building, production of metallurgical, mining equipment, agricultural machinery, etc.) – 6.6%;
• chemical industry – 6.6% and production of rubber and plastic products – 2.1%;
• repair and installation of machinery and equipment – 5.6%;
• production of other non-metallic mineral products – 5.5%;
• metallurgical production – 2.4%.
