The verdict in the criminal case of Yevgeny Roizman (included in the register of foreign agents) on discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation has entered into force. A measure of restraint in the form of a ban on certain actions has been lifted from the former mayor of Yekaterinburg – he is again allowed to use the Internet, means of communication, visit public places and communicate with witnesses in the case.
Oktyabrsky District Court of Yekaterinburg acknowledged Roizman guilty of discrediting the Russian army in May. He was fined 260 thousand rubles. The criminal case was initiated in August 2022, before that the politician was fined three times for discrediting the army under an administrative article (part 1 of article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).
Evgeny Roizman headed Yekaterinburg in 2013–2018. November 2022 was introduced to the register of foreign agents.
