The US Treasury has extended a permit allowing Americans to pay taxes, fees, and import duties in Russia until November 8, 2023. About it says in the license published on the website of the Ministry of Finance.
The permit is valid for US citizens and US companies “provided that such transactions are carried out in the usual manner and are necessary for daily activities in the Russian Federation,” the document says. In addition to paying taxes and fees, Americans may also acquire or obtain the necessary permits, licenses, registrations, or certifications to do so.
Initially, the US Treasury issued the license on March 2, 2022, a week after the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine. After that, the document, which was valid until June 24, 2022, was extended several times. The previous version of the license was released on May 19 and was valid until August 17.
In November 2022, the US Treasury allowed individuals and legal entities of the country to participate in operations necessary for the operation of Russian diplomatic missions by issuing an appropriate license.
