The website of the United States legislature reports that the Congressional Senate has supported the draft US defense budget for the next fiscal year for a record amount of $886.3 billion.
It is clarified that 62 senators voted for the project, 10 legislators spoke out against it. After the document is approved by the Senate, it will be sent to the House of Representatives for consideration and then to President Joe Biden for signature.
Let us recall that the defense budget bill is adopted by representatives of Congress on an annual basis. This document outlines the principles of the country’s defense policy for the coming year, and also allocates budget funding.
According to the project, the United States plans to allocate $300 million in military assistance to Ukraine in the 2024 fiscal year.
