The US is considering deploying international security forces in Gaza

American authorities are discussing with foreign partners the idea of stationing international security forces in the Gaza Strip. The US State Department announced this on Wednesday, December 6.
As the head of the department’s press service, Matthew Miller, noted, it is too early to speak unequivocally about any decision in this direction, but “we are focused on what the situation in Gaza should be after the conflict, and this, of course, includes ensuring security for Palestinians living in Gaza.”
Miller repeated the position of Washington, which opposes the “re-occupation” of the Gaza Strip.
Earlier, American media reported that Washington predicted the end of the third phase of the IDF military operation in the Gaza Strip until January 2024. It is expected that after this the Israeli army will switch to a strategy of targeted strikes against Hamas militants.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the importance of continuing diplomatic steps to achieve a joint international protest against Israel’s oppression of Palestine. The politician recalled that at the UN General Assembly, 121 countries came out in support of the Palestinians, while only 14 countries took the side of Israel and the United States.
