The US has prepared a freezer for Ukraine: Russia is being driven into a negotiation trap

The new speaker of the American Congress pointedly “forgot” about money for Kyiv

The puppyish delight of the generalized Russian “TV” over the election of Trumpist Mike Johnson, who “does not support Ukraine”, as Speaker of the American Congress, is partly understandable, since it is caused by a feeling of some success. Well, yes, Zelensky is being dumped. You just have to remember that no one is going to close the “Ukraine project” there. But please put it in the freezer for safekeeping.

Indeed, Johnson, at first glance, is a nightmare for American liberals: he actively disputed the results of the 2020 election, saying that Trump’s victory was stolen, he is against the legalization of same-sex marriage, he advocates a ban on abortion, and he supports the impeachment of Biden. And most importantly, if at first he was in favor of helping Ukraine, then he later voted against all new tranches, including the last one. And even in his first speech after his election, he declared “support for our dear friend – Israel” and did not say a word about Ukraine, as if he were a dead man. Then, of course, he was asked about Ukraine and he replied that it could be supported, but on the condition that Kyiv would report in detail on the expenditure of the funds provided, and the White House would clearly outline the goals.

Citing sources, the authoritative Politico writes that the Biden administration has already changed its rhetoric about goals. Privately, she urges members of Congress from both parties to explain to Americans that US involvement in military conflicts abroad can give the country economic growth as the country invests in its defense industry. What is much clearer to ordinary citizens than the “struggle against tyranny” somewhere overseas.

But this means that military assistance – shells, tanks, missiles, and so on – may well continue, but purely financial assistance may well be curtailed. But in order to load the American military-industrial complex with long-term orders and scale production (the current level does not meet the needs), it is necessary to have someone to help. Is not it?

And now is the time to remember what many (including your humble servant) said a few months ago – in the fall the United States will “freeze” the conflict.

At the same time, the United States also benefits from the growing “anti-war” rhetoric in Europe, prominent representatives of which are Hungary (Foreign Minister Szijjártó: “there should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations that will allow us to reach a peaceful solution”) and the new Prime Minister of Slovakia, Fico. The latter generally stated that he was in favor of ending hostilities, and he “doesn’t care what plan it will be.” Like, “what they agree on is a matter for the Russians and Americans. You know that the Ukrainians do not play any role here – whatever the Russians and the Americans agree on will be valid.”

Freezing the conflict will allow the West to preserve Ukraine, increase military production to the required level and, accordingly, arm Kyiv and supply it not with a teaspoon every hour, but with a continuous stream. Does anyone believe that if you sign the papers, this won’t happen?

What do we have? Well, imagine that the United States proposed negotiations on Ukraine. They offered territorial concessions, and even lured us into easing sanctions. This whole forced “jingoistic” crowd, the layer between the highest authorities and the people, will rush to Putin ahead of their own squeal and will persuade, beg and even put pressure, right up to the rocking of society. From the generalized Russian “TV” songs will pour out “if only there was no war”, about the suffering of civilians and “a child’s tear”, stories about how we have already won: the regime in Kiev is different (in the sense of not Zelensky, that’s denazification), The Ukrainian Armed Forces no longer have their own weapons (demilitarization has been completed). And where the SVO should end geographically, if anyone knows, they won’t tell us.

And one hope is that Putin will no longer want to say “they cheated again.” And for this, we must close the “Ukraine project”. There (and not only in the West) no one is going to do this.
