The Pentagon said they have no knowledge of China’s possible plans to establish a covert base in Cuba to spy on the United States. In his speech, US military spokesman Patrick Ryder stressed that he had no information about the development of spy stations by China and Cuba.
However, he acknowledged that the US is aware of the existing relationship between Cuba and China. At the same time, he stressed that the information circulated in the media about the presence of a secret base is not confirmed and accurate.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that China and Cuba have reached an agreement to host a base with electronic listening devices on an island off Florida. According to the publication, such a base will allow Beijing to intercept electronic messages transmitted from the southeast of the United States, where the military bases of the American army are located.
