The US Department of Justice threatened the head of VTB Kostin with prison

The US Department of Justice has brought criminal charges against VTB head Andrei Kostin, threatening him with decades in prison. The charges relate to conspiracy to violate sanctions and money laundering. Kostin’s assistants Vadim Volfson (Belyaev) and Gannon Bond were previously arrested as part of the investigation in New York. Other individuals, including businessman Sergei Kurchenko and Felix Medvedev, also faced charges.
Prosecutors also plan to confiscate two apartments in Miami that allegedly belong to Russian businessman Viktor Perevalov.
Kostin, according to the indictment, allegedly participated in money laundering for the maintenance of the yacht, the Ministry of Justice reports.
