The US Congress proposed a plan to finance the government without aid to Ukraine

Speaker of the US House of Representatives Mike Johnson introduced a bill that concerns the allocation of funds to finance government programs, but does not provide financial assistance to Ukraine, RIA Novosti writes.

In particular, the bill provides for financing of some state programs in the field of transport, energy and military construction no later than January 19, for all other aspects – until February 2.

The report says that Ukraine was not included in either the first or second part of the bill. At the same time, on November 2, Johnson said that the Republican Party in the US House of Representatives would consider financing Ukraine and ensuring the security of American borders together.

Earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that the United States is beginning to transfer smaller packages of military equipment to Ukraine from the Pentagon’s inventory in order to stretch its ability to support Kyiv for as long as possible. The current 45-day temporary US budget does not provide for assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, the US House of Representatives passed a separate bill to allocate $14.3 billion in aid to Israel to fight Hamas.

The Pentagon reported that during Biden’s presidency, the United States allocated more than $44.5 billion in military aid to Ukraine. As noted, most of this amount came after the start of the CWO – $43.9 billion. This week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced the allocation Ukraine is receiving another package of military assistance worth $150 million. It is reported that air defense equipment will be sent to Kiev. The new package will also include artillery and other weapons. The State Department notes that the United States previously approved the transfer of weapons to the Ukrainian military, which are included in the new package.

Earlier it was reported that Pentagon representatives are concerned about the need to continue supplies of ammunition to Ukraine and Israel, and also express concern about the state of weapons stocks in the United States. As noted, at the moment the needs of Israel and Ukraine are different, and if the Kyiv regime mainly requires artillery ammunition, then in Jerusalem they are interested in missiles for the Iron Dome complex and high-precision weapons. Despite this, Washington has expressed concern that if Israel launches a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, it will require a huge amount of artillery ammunition.
