The US Congress is preparing bills to speed up the supply of weapons abroad, including for Taiwan, said Gregory Meeks, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives.
According to him, congressmen are currently preparing such bills that will significantly speed up the work on sending military products to foreign partners of the United States.
The congressman noted that, if passed, future laws would “reduce red tape” and avoid delays in foreign deliveries of American weapons.
“We’re looking into it right now,” Meeks said.
On July 15, the Pentagon announced that the U.S. State Department had approved a potential supply of military technical assistance to Taiwan worth about $108 million.
