The Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to continue the counter-offensive for another six to eight weeks, after which the situation may worsen significantly due to weather conditions. According to Kirby, due to the approaching cold weather, it is necessary to allocate additional funds as military assistance to Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on June 9 that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has definitely begun, but the Ukrainian army is unable to achieve its goals in any sector. During the plenary session WEF he stated that Ukraine has no results, while the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces since the beginning of the counter-offensive have already amounted to 71,500 people.
On September 20, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said in an interview with CNN that he does not know whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to achieve significant success in the counteroffensive before the end of the year. He noted that he expected a positive decision from the United States on the supply of long-range ATACMS missiles. Otherwise, he said, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have “more casualties on the battlefield.”
