The American authorities are going to introduce additional restrictive measures against those involved in the military-technical cooperation between Russia and Iran in the coming days. This was announced on Monday, May 15, by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby.
The speaker of the US Security Council said that Washington will continue to “impose costs on the entities involved in the transfer of Iranian military equipment to Russia for use in Ukraine.”
Kirby has already said that Tehran is supplying Moscow with unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as artillery shells and tank ammunition. At the same time, Washington could not provide any evidence. Both Russia and Iran have repeatedly denied the respective accusations of the United States.
Earlier, American journalists expressed the opinion that the United States should be concerned about the strengthening of relations between Russia and Iran and take steps to undermine such an alliancebecause it interferes with the realization of Washington’s interests in Eurasia, Europe and the Middle East. At the same time, accusations were made against the Joe Biden administration of failing to contain the Russian-Iranian alliance.
British military analyst Sean Bell noted that Russia is seeking to create a new alliance in opposition to NATO with an appeal to such countries, like China, Iran and North Korea. If this plan is implemented, according to the expert, the world can be divided into two competing global alliances, which can lead to a global conflict.
