The US authorities are considering the possibility of delivering two NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) to Ukraine within the next two months. This was stated by the press secretary of the US Department of Defense, Brigadier General Patrick Ryder.

NASAMS air defense systems can be delivered within the next months. Earlier, Kyiv also stated that they were waiting for the supply of air defense systems. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine use outdated air defense systems of fifty years ago, as well as Stinger portable anti-aircraft missile systems. This significantly reduces the effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defense, making military and civilian infrastructure vulnerable to Russian aircraft and missiles.

Earlier it became known that at the end of August, the US Department of Defense signed a contract with the Raytheon Defense Corporation for the purchase of NASAMS anti-aircraft missile systems for Ukraine.
