It is specified that the letter was sent on March 17. These are technologies that are under US export control. The text of the document says that the handling of these technologies, including copying, storage and re-export, is a violation of US law.
Goods, software and technology fall under this control when they can be used to undermine US national security, writes CNN.
According to the channel, on October 24, 2022, Andrea Ferkile, Director of the Department of Nonproliferation Policy of the US Department of Energy, sent a letter to the department’s inspector general describing the technology that was sent from the United States for use at the Zaporozhye NPP. At the same time, the Ministry of Energy did not have information “about any current permission to transfer this technology and technical data to any Russian citizen or legal entity.”
ZNPP has been under Russian control since the end of February 2022. On September 30, the Zaporozhye region, as well as the DPR, LPR and Kherson region became part of Russia. Then the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin ordered to transfer the Zaporizhzhya NPP to federal ownership. Rosenergoatom became its operator.
