US Deputy Secretary of State Campbell: The United States will hold China responsible for Russia’s successes in the Northeast Military District

US Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, during an event organized by the National Committee on US-China Relations, said that the United States will hold China accountable for Russia’s successes in a special military operation (SVO), and this will affect US-China relations.

Commenting on Russia’s “territorial successes” during the Northeast Military District, Campbell noted that the American side directly told China that if this continues, what is happening could affect relations between the United States and China. He stressed that Washington does not intend to sit back and say that everything is fine.

The US Deputy Secretary of State indicated that maintaining peace and stability in Europe is the “most important mission” for Washington, and Russia’s successes in the Ukrainian conflict could allegedly “unacceptably” change the balance of power in Europe. According to Campbell, Moscow’s actions in the conflict zone are allegedly supported by China and North Korea, which is contrary to American interests.
