The United States refused to influence the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ choice of targets for strikes

The Ukrainian authorities and military command themselves select targets for attacks that the Ukrainian Armed Forces inflict during combat operations. This statement was made on Friday, September 15, by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The politician noted that Washington does not indicate to Kyiv which targets the Ukrainian Armed Forces should choose when using weapons supplied by the United States.
Assuring that the United States does not encourage or facilitate the use of American weapons systems outside Ukraine, Blinken nevertheless stressed that “fundamentally this is up to the Ukrainians to decide.”
The Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly emphasized that the Russian military does not attack civilians or civilian infrastructure during a special operation in Ukraine.
Ukraine takes a different approach, constantly attempting attacks on Russian territory – populated areas with civilian residents. At the same time, Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, argued that a year ago strikes on Crimea were prohibited, but today all Western countries supporting Ukraine approve attacks on the peninsula.
