The United States imposed sanctions against Belavia and the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury has expanded sanctions against Belarus – the list was replenished with the Belavia airline and the Minsk Civil Aviation Plant. This should from a departmental publication.
In addition, the sanctions list includes the Financial Investigation Department of the KGB of Belarus and members of its leadership, the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant, as well as the Bel Kap Steel company registered in Miami. According to the Ministry of Finance, the company may be associated with a metallurgical plant in Belarus. The list was replenished with eight individuals associated with the KGB and Belarusian enterprises.
The US Treasury replenishes the sanctions register regularly. March 24 OFAC introduced Belaz and Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), as well as their leaders, to their register. The Central Election Commission of the republic and the airliner of the country’s President Alexander Lukashenko fell under the sanctions.
August 3 under US sanctions hit Institute of General Physics. Prokhorov Institute of Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Solid State Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. At the same time, Russian Anatoly Smolin, allegedly associated with Vega Strategic Services, as well as the dry cargo ship Paramushir and the container ship Sasco Angara, connected, according to the Ministry of Finance, with JSC Sakhalin Shipping Company, appeared in the sanctions register.
