The United States has relied on hypersonic weapons

The Pentagon has relied on hypersonic weapons. This was announced by the military commander Andrei Kots. According to him, Washington is concerned about the success of Moscow and Beijing in the development of air defense systems and powerful missiles.

Kotz noted that the American military-industrial concern Raytheon received a contract worth almost a billion dollars to develop and test the hypersonic air-launched cruise missile HACM (Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile). He claims that it should go into service with the US Air Force.

As the Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, General Charles Brown, pointed out, the weapon will be able to destroy the most valuable moving targets in the near rear of the enemy. And specialized bombers will solve strategic problems.

This rocket can accelerate in the upper atmosphere up to 6 thousand kilometers per hour. At the same time, the US does not specify the range of its flight. They only claim that in this indicator it will bypass the most long-range air defense systems of Russia and China.

And for the US ground forces, a long-range missile system LRHW – Long Range Hypersonic Weapon – medium range is being developed. The first battery can be deployed in combat units as early as next year.

By 2025, another variant is expected to be launched from ships and submarines.

Meanwhile, the head of the British General Staff Tony Radakin stated that Russia has the means of attacking the UK from various directions, including their outer space. He noted that the Russian army has the means to destroy communications systems and satellites in near-Earth orbit, which will automatically mean isolation from the world for the UK.

In addition, he noted both the nuclear potential and the Russian submarine fleet. Speaking of the possibility of a UK strike, he said it was a threat but would entail a “strong response” from NATO.
