On May 1, White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby reported that the United States handed over Ukraine almost 100% of the military assistance that she requested for the counteroffensive. He also announced a “very, very soon” start of new deliveries.
On April 28, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that after the start of the special operation, the West involved against Russia, the military potential and capabilities of almost all NATO countries. The actions of Western countries, according to him, indicate advance preparation for confrontation with Russia.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly pointed to the involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine. In September 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian army in Ukraine is opposed to “virtually the entire military machine of the collective West.”
