The United States did not see signs of opening a “new front” from Belarus

The United States sees no signs of preparations for hostilities against Ukraine from the territory of Belarus, said Pentagon spokesman Air Force Brigadier General Patrick Ryder.
“We continue to closely monitor Belarus. Without going into the details of intelligence work, I can say that, in our opinion, there are no signs at the moment that Russia intends to use it to open a new front. But, I repeat, we continue to closely monitor the situation, as well as the Ukrainians,” quotes Ryder press service of the department.
In October, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich said that the country would not enter into a military conflict until the state border was violated – “then we will fight back.”
President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko, in turn, repeatedly arguedthat Western countries are trying with all their might to draw Belarus into the conflict in Ukraine. The head of state noted that the republic is unreasonably “accused of all sins.”
Lukashenka also stressed that Belarus is in favor of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. He called the event itself “a huge tragedy”, noting that the conflict was the result of “strategic intrigues and the greatest stupidity.”
