White House: The US cannot confirm Russia’s involvement in the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station
The United States currently has no evidence that Russia was involved in the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. The corresponding statement was made in the White House. They also stressed that Washington continues to monitor the situation.
“The United States is closely monitoring the situation around the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, and cannot confirm the involvement of the Russian Federation in what happened,” the message says.
The White House also noted that the incident at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station could bring devastating consequences for the energy sector of Ukraine.
The day before, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that on the night of June 6, Ukraine committed sabotage at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. Relevant actions led to the flooding of many settlements.
