If a truce in Ukraine is concluded on Russia’s terms, that is, with the consolidation of new territorial acquisitions by the Russian Federation, this will be a “violation of the UN Charter.” This US position was voiced by White House spokesman John Kirby.
According to Kirby, if a truce is signed now, this will lead to a violation of the principles of the UN. Accordingly, the Chinese peace plan, from the point of view of the United States, is not suitable for ending the conflict in Ukraine.
In addition, a truce on Russian terms, Kirby noted, would allegedly be used by Moscow to strengthen the position of Russian troops and increase military power.
Thus, the United States once again emphasized its commitment to the idea of continuing and escalating the armed conflict, despite the loss of life and destruction.
