Commander of the United States Aerospace Forces Chance Saltzman, in an interview with The Washington Post, said that America plans to launch a large constellation of satellites into low Earth orbit for the needs of the US military.
He clarified that this grouping can include up to one thousand devices.
“With so many satellites, it will be more difficult for other countries to do any damage to them. We observe a similar effect with the Starlink satellite constellation in Ukraine. The Russians are trying to jam them, but all their attempts have no success,” Saltzman said.
According to him, earlier in the state of Colorado, a new unit of the US Space Forces began to work at the Peterson military base. It will be engaged in the evaluation of spacecraft of other states, their potential and purpose.
