The UN Security Council adopted a draft resolution condemning the Houthi attacks in the Red Sea
Members of the United Nations Security Council voted in favor of a US-sponsored draft resolution condemning Yemen’s Houthi attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
Eleven members of the UN Security Council gave their votes in support of the document to the international organization; four states abstained, including Russia, Algeria and China.
Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, criticized this draft resolution, noting that with this resolution Washington is trying to “legitimize the actions of the coalition in the Red Sea.”
