The UN reported the death of 29 employees of its agency in the Gaza Strip

Twenty-nine employees of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in the Gaza Strip have been confirmed dead, half of them worked as teachers in UNRWA schools, the agency reported on the social network X.
“We are shocked and in mourning. It is now confirmed that 29 of our colleagues in Gaza have been killed since October 7,” the statement said.
Deaths of UNRWA staff started report after Israel was attacked by Hamas on October 7 and the Jewish state responded by launching an operation in the Gaza Strip. On 11 October, UNRWA Deputy Director for Gaza Affairs Jennifer Austin reported 11 deaths, including five UNRWA school teachers, one gynecologist, one engineer, one psychologist and three support staff.
According to the latest data, their homes in the Gaza Strip left already more than 1.5 million people. Since the beginning of the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the number of victims has risen to 6,000 people, most of whom died in the Gaza Strip.
