The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution of the Russian Federation on the non-placement of weapons in space

Participants in the plenary session of the UN General Assembly approved a draft resolution proposed by Russia on the non-placement of weapons in outer space.
127 countries voted for the document entitled “No First Placement of Weapons in Space,” co-authored by Belarus, China, Cuba, North Korea and Egypt, in addition to Russia, 50 countries voted against, and six more abstained.
Note that in 2022, five fewer countries voted for a similar document.
The resolution stipulates that states with space capabilities will not be the first to deploy weapons in space.
