The UN announced the number of foreigners who left the Gaza Strip

About 500 foreigners have left the Gaza Strip, said UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarric.
“As we understand, about 500 holders of foreign passports were allowed to leave [сектор Газа]”, he said at a briefing (quote according to TASS).
On the morning of November 1, the Palestinian group Hamas published lists of citizens who were allowed to leave the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint. Among them are citizens of Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Jordan, Finland, the Czech Republic and Japan. It was also reported that Palestinians with dual citizenship and employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and NGOs operating in Gaza will be able to leave Gaza.
Russian Foreign Ministry reported, which provided the authorities of the countries involved with information about Russian citizens who applied for evacuation from the Gaza Strip. The department continues to work with the authorities of Egypt, Israel and Palestine to ensure the speedy and safe exit of Russians from the enclave.
As Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said on October 18, about 1,000 Russian citizens and members of their families became virtual hostages of the military blockade of Gaza. On October 20, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is ready to evacuate its citizens from the Gaza Strip, and there is a possibility for this.
The conflict between Israel and Hamas escalated on October 7 after Palestinian militants attacked southern Israeli areas. The Israeli army responded by launching Operation Iron Swords and began massive shelling of Gaza. According to the latest data, more than 9,000 people were killed – the Palestinian side reported over 8,000 dead, about 1,400 people were killed in Israel after the group’s attack.
On October 30, Commissioner General of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, reported that 70% of those killed in the Gaza Strip were women and children. According to him, more than 3,200 children died in three weeks.
