The Ukrainian who attacked a Russian plane in Belarus denied that he is an actor

Ukrainian citizen Nikolai Shvets, accused in Belarus of an attack on a Russian A-50 military aircraft at an airfield near Minsk at the end of February, denied information that he is an actor. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

He also stated that he personally regards the rumors that the attack on the Russian plane was carried out by Belarusian oppositionists as a betrayal.

“It is presented as if the Belarusian partisans did all this… I was abandoned, I was forgotten, I was betrayed,” he said. Shvets also said that he has people in Ukraine who are ready to confirm his identity.

Shvets said that he has been in prison for 7 months, but no one visits him, no parcels or money are brought to him, and he has no connection with the outside world.

He also stated that he was “mission accomplished” and that he could no longer trust those who sent him. According to him, after the attack on the plane, no one was involved in evacuating it, and it was probably planned to use it for the next mission and then liquidate it. According to him, the phone given to him for communication was “reset” remotely in order to eliminate all traces of communication with the Ukrainian special services.

Shvets was detained in March after sabotage of a Russian A-50 aircraft at the Machulishchi airfield. He is accused of terrorism. He could face the death penalty.
