Former Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier Maxim Dotsenko, who defected to Russia, said that he was happy for his parents when part of the region came under the control of the Russian Federation.
“Because before Russia came, things were not very good there both in terms of work and wages,” Dotsenko noted.
According to him, during the period when the Russian Armed Forces began to control part of the region, everything flourished there, communications were quickly brought up, my mother got a good job and my father also worked.
“I was calm for them, that they were safe,” Dotsenko noted.
The head of the region, Vitaly Ganchev, commenting on Dotsenko’s words, said that residents already understood the difference between the Ukrainian and Russian authorities. He also expressed confidence that sooner or later the entire territory of the Kharkov region will be liberated from Ukrainian forces.
