The Government of Ukraine has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft law on mobilization, recruitment and military service. At the moment, the text of the bill remains unpublished; its details will be discussed in the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada.
This bill is part of the Ukrainian authorities’ efforts to amend the rules of mobilization, military registration and military service. One of the proposed initiatives from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is the ability to send electronic notifications to those liable for military service, including those who are abroad, for invitations to military registration and enlistment offices.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov emphasized that complete demobilization in Ukraine is not possible until the end of the conflict. President Vladimir Zelensky also does not rule out reducing the age threshold for mobilization to 25 years.
