Participating in the elections for the mayor of Moscow are Sergei Sobyanin, the current mayor of the capital (United Russia), Leonid Zyuganov, State Duma deputy (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Dmitry Gusev, State Duma deputy (A Just Russia – For Truth), Boris Chernyshov, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma ( LDPR) and Vladislav Davankov, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma (“New People”).
The Moscow City Election Commission said that voting is taking place in the capital smooth and calm. There were no comments about violations made to the IPCC.
The head of the Public Headquarters for monitoring elections in the capital, Vadim Kovalev, recalled how Muscovites can vote in mayoral elections. He emphasized that “the more opportunities Muscovites have to vote, the better,” while the electronic voting terminal (TEG) allows a citizen to come to any polling station, regardless of which district of the capital the person is registered in.
